Beginning the Journey of Community-led Development
BELIEFS (Better Livelihood and Education Through Fundamental Studies) began its journey in 2022 with a vision to improve the quality of life of people by developing innovative models of livelihood and education through fundamental studies.
BeliefsIndia Foundation is a separate legal entity established to further strengthen and expand community-led development initiatives. The Annual Reports presented on this platform document the grassroots journey, experiences and learning of BELIEFS.
The Annual Report 2022–23 presents the first year of BELIEFS’ work with tribal communities in Nashik district. During this foundational year, the organization focused on understanding local challenges and initiating community-based interventions related to employment, health, education and livelihoods.
The report highlights BELIEFS’ early efforts in tribal-dominated blocks of Nashik district, community engagement processes, livelihood initiatives through MGNREGA, and the organization’s approach towards women-centered development.
This report reflects the beginning of a journey based on participation, local knowledge and collective action.
