The ‘BELIEFS’ organization, in collaboration with Mahabeej (Maharashtra State Seeds Corporation), has taken a significant initiative for small and marginal farmers cultivating millets like Ragi (Nagali, Nachani) and Varai in the tribal regions of Nashik district.
Under this program, improved varieties of finger millet and Varai seeds are being successfully produced and distributed among tribal farmers in Peth, Trimbakeshwar, and Surgana talukas.
This initiative not only promotes traditional and nutritious crops but also enhances sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural and tribal women farmers.
The collaboration aims to revive millet cultivation and ensure better market linkages and food security for marginalized communities.
