From Aspiration to Employment: Tejal’s Journey Towards Self-Reliance
Tejal Padekar from Dahalewadi faced significant financial and social challenges after completing her Class 12 education. Like many young women from rural and tribal communities, she was unable to continue her studies despite having aspirations for a better future.
Determined to become self-reliant, Tejal explored opportunities that could help her build skills and secure meaningful employment. Through BELIEFS Trust’s skill development initiative, she enrolled in a hospitality and hotel management training programme.
During the training, Tejal developed communication skills, workplace discipline, professional behaviour, and the confidence required to work in a formal employment environment. The experience helped her prepare for opportunities that had previously seemed beyond reach.
With continued guidance and support, Tejal successfully secured employment at a hotel in Nashik. Receiving her first salary marked an important milestone in her life. It not only provided financial support for her family but also strengthened her confidence and sense of independence.
Today, Tejal’s journey serves as an example for other young women in her village who are considering skill development and employment opportunities.
